What does it take to reach your weight loss and fitness goals?

So many of us want to be better but talk and moan about how the ‘need to change’, but won’t invest in themselves to get there!!⁣ So what does it take to reach the weight loss and fitness goals you desire?


Motivation is temporary you can’t have it everyday trust me, it’s discipline and how much you want that goal that keeps you going.

Go figure why you are in the same position as you where last week or even worse than last year! ⁣Now is the time to be creating new and healthy habits while there is less social distractions. Getting motivated is an important part of the equation, it’s not easy on a cold, wet Tuesday to drag yourself out of bed and get straight to it. You need a goal to keep you motivated.

The first step is to have a definite goal – what is it you would like to achieve? Do you want to lose 10lbs? Do you want to increase your biceps? Do you want more defined glutes?

Work out exactly what it is you want to achieve. This is why you are getting up at 7am to fit a quick workout in before the kids wake up. This is your motivation.


Discipline is hard. If it was easy, everyone would have it, we would all lead perfect lives, achieve our goals in everyday life and not have to worry about what to do next. Discipline only works if you have a definite ‘end goal’. For example, if I new that I would have enough money for an amazing holiday in 2 years time by saving £150 month I would be more likely to save that money. But it requires discipline to not squander that money after one year for a cheaper holiday. It also requires discipline to put that money to one side every month and not touch it. but in 2 years time, I will know my saving efforts have been worth it.

Fitness goals and weight loss are similar. What if my goal was to have be beach body ready in 1 years time? What if I knew that changing up my diet and nutrition, working out the correct way and being disciplined about it would give me the results I wanted? Yes – you would do it!


The third part of the equation is knowledge. Having the motivation and the discipline to reach your goal is all well and good, except…. are you going about it the right way?

If you wanted to learn how to become a brain surgeon, you wouldn’t wing it and hope for the best. You would find the best course, the best lecturers and the best path to follow to reach your goal.

Fitness and diet is no different. You need the best tutor, the best course and the right path to follow. This is where BCFitness comes in.
